Bitumen emulsion is a construction material essential in the road construction process. It is a mixture of bitumen, water, and small amounts of chemical components (acids and emulsifiers), allowing the bitumen to be evenly dispersed in water in the form of very fine particles. Thanks to this dispersion of bitumen particles, bitumen emulsion maintains a liquid consistency after production, during transport, and during application, facilitating its use at ambient temperature or with slight heating. It is primarily used for bonding bitumen layers but also for deep recycling of road structure layers and various types of road maintenance works aimed at extending their service life. The technology of bitumen emulsions is low-emission. This means that producing mineral-emulsion mixtures requires significantly less energy compared to producing traditional mineral-bitumen mixtures, as the components do not need to be heated.
Lower emissions and energy savings.
Applications at ambient temperatures.
Modified bitumen is a special type of bitumen that have been modified to improve their properties and performance. These modifications may include the addition of various materials such as polymers to increase hardness, flexibility, resistance to temperature changes and overall durability. Modified bitumen is extensively used in the construction of roads, airports, parking areas and other high-traffic surfaces.
Bitumen is a product of petroleum distillation widely used in road construction. It is a black, viscous, or solid substance that becomes plastic at appropriate temperatures. The primary function of road bitumen is to bind aggregate in asphalt mixes, which are used to build road constructions. Characteristic features of road bitumen include:
Good adhesion to aggregate - ensures the durability of the surface.
Resistance to changing weather conditions - bitumen retains its properties over a wide range of temperatures.
Flexibility - allows asphalt construction to transfer loads without cracking.
Water resistance - protects aggregate from moisture penetration.
Road bitumen is classified, among other factors, based on it's penetration (a measure of hardness) and softening temperature, which allows the properties of bitumen to be tailored to specific usage conditions, such as climate or load demands.
Our state-of-the-art production facilities enable us to produce the highest quality bitumen emulsions and modified bitumen. Additionally, our well-developed transportation infrastructure allows us to deliver these products quickly to any location selected by the Client within Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
Not only do we produce bitumen emulsions, but we also possess equipment for applying tack coats on surfaces where bitumen mixes will be laid. Tack-coat services are performed folowing prior agreement with the Client regarding the scope and schedule of the work.
